HUGGIES JEANS COMMERCIAL – ‘I POO IN BLUE!’
In case you missed it – here’s a great commercial for a new brand of Huggies’ Denim Diapers…
I assumed this was actually a spoof – but this does appear to be an actual product. Please tell me I’m wrong people! Funny or Die / College Humor couldn’t have come up with anything crazier…
Check out the designer diaper brand in all their chic glory…
And to prove that this is the real deal, here’s the press release:
Kimberly-Clark Corporation (NYSE: KMB) today announced the nationwide availability of the limited edition Huggies Little Movers Jeans Diapers – a unique, fun and stylish denim-inspired fashion for babies during the summer months.
The new diaper is the first of its kind available in the United States and is available nationwide for a limited time from June through July 2010, where diapers are sold.
“Jeans have always been a Mommy fashion must-have, but now it’s time for their little ones to steal the style,” said Stuart Schneider, senior brand director of Huggies. “The design helps babies stay trendy while keeping dry with the same revolutionary design and proven leakage protection that moms have come to know and trust from the Huggies brand.”
Huggies Jeans Diapers feature a fashionable blue denim design, providing parents and little ones everywhere with a trendy way to express their personal styles. First launched in Israel in 2007, Huggies Jeans Diapers have been a success in more than 20 countries around the world including Russia, South Korea, Mexico, Singapore and many more.
“Following the success of our global Huggies brand teams, we’re inviting consumers to engage with the Huggies brand in the same way they would engage with a fashion brand they love,” said Schneider. “From baby fashion shows to celebrity partnerships, we’re challenging moms to look at diapers in a whole new way.”

The release of the fashion innovation in North America will include a comprehensive integrated marketing program that will stop moms in their tracks and inspire them to purchase Huggies Jeans Diapers. Utilizing the same tactics as a fashion brand, the team is incorporating a mix of marketing elements that include fashion shows, celebrity partnerships, social media, public relations, digital and e-commerce partnerships, TV, mall and Internet advertising, as well as highly visible and unique in-store displays and cross promotions.
Huggies Jeans Diapers are available in three sizes, from size 3 (16-28 lbs) through size 5 (over 27 lbs) for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $9.59 for a jumbo pack and $19.99 for a big pack (diaper count varies based on diaper size).

Oh for crying out loud, they are not checking out the kid. They are checking out the style. I think the commercial is hilarious. Perhaps all the people that see this as porn need to clean out their own closet because they apparently have a guilty conscience!

I LOVE this commercial I think it’s the best Huggie has put out!!! That little boy is sooo cute and full of confidence, there is nothing wrong with that commercial!
People that see wrong in this…..then I would say that you really have issues!!!!!

The first time I saw this my porn-dar antennae went up. This is kiddie porn. The way the lady is looking at the BABY is very disturbing. And those who do practice kiddie porn might be urged to do even more frequently every time they see this.
There is nothing funny about this. There is nothing “cute” about a grown adult being “turned on” in the way shown in this commercial.

Come on you guys, lighten up? I mean, really…this is a cute baby in a diaper commercial…get your mind out of the gutter! There is nothing sexual about it…the little guy is not trying to be sexual nor is the producers of this commercial trying to make him that way! Can’t we just apprehiate a good commercial without reading anything into it? And those nasty sex perverts out there will twist ANYTHING that has a child in it!

I wrote this to Huggies; & got the below reply
Trying to make a little baby boy seem styled like a sexy older male and 'Looking like #1 when pooing #2'. This ad is totally wrong and offensive. YOU are selling a product for babies and toddlers for Christsakes!! Who ever approved this ad to go forward should be fired. This reminds me of the Guess jeans? was it that were making ads years ago that came on as porno. Your diaper ad reminds me of that. I will never buy Huggies again and recommend anyone I know to boycott them too until this ad is gone. Think I will post my dislike on Facebook as I now see Huggies is there also.

I love this commercial. Wouldn't buy these for my son, but it's funny as heck! I'll stick with the regular white diapers.

Cute commercial. I wish they had those when my daughter was young (she's 10 now). I would have bought them then. I saw a little girl in them a few days ago…..a very cute fashion! I should just buy a box…maybe for the next kid. After all, they are limited!

I sometimes cringe and have similar reactions as some of those posted above, when I see toddlers in commercials that appear "sexualized". I just did not see this commercial that way AT ALL. I saw it as a funny depiction of the confidence a toddler could feel 'graduating' to a more pants-like diaper – kind of like the toddler having a self-esteem based fantasy about the respect he would get from "bigger" folks in the circumstances. Yes, it was somewhat a parody of a fashion ad – it just didn't strike me as sexual. Honestly, I thought it was kind of cute (in light of how I saw it, described above).

I was really angered when I saw this commercial. I was thinking someone would think something was wrong with me. But my room mate who is in day-care was also angry. I see now we are not the only ones. I will never buy another Huggies product. Why anyone would produce a commercial for a baby product with any type of sexual overtones, even if it was only to be "cute", is beyond me. As if society hasn't corrupted our young pre-teenagers enough – now this. Sexuality is meant for adults, not children. It's really those who have a problem who do not recognize this.

Cute, I can't wait see an actual kid in them

i think this is stupid. personally i think filling up our landfills with diapers that cannot biodegrade is way more harmful then any of the notes above.
Why can't Kimberly Clark think more enviromental than fashionable.?.. kids will poop where they want to poop, who cares how fashionable it is.

Every parent's worst nightmare, our young children being checked out by grown men. Society has already oversexualized our tweens does corporate American really need to move on to our infants and toddlers. What happened to corporate responsibility?

I was shocked when I saw the ad come up on TV today. I think it is softcore child porn.

Seems pretty normal for a diaper commercial to me….what's so weird about it?
