Keep Or Cancel? FOX
Mar 28th
It’s Keep Or Cancel time again – and today we’re turning to Fox to take a look at what shows will be coming back in the Fall – and which are heading for the TV graveyard…
Fox is in an interesting place – and one that’s dangerous for a lot of the network’s new shows. Take a look at the LONG list of already renewed shows below… plus add in Simon Cowell’s X Factor, which is likely going to take up between 2-4 hours of primetime each week and THEN add in Terra Nova, the Steven Spielberg produced dinosaur series that’s a lock for the Fall. That doesn’t leave many slots open… so let the battle begin!
FOX MAKES FUN OF FRINGE’S FRIDAY MOVE!
Dec 15th
Everyone in TV knows that Friday night is the TV equivalent of the Dead Zone….
It’s where scripted shows get sent to die a quiet death (Ugly Betty, Medium, CSI New York) or where once promising new shows that have fallen from network favor are relegated (Blue Bloods, Dollhouse). So when Fox decided to exile cult favorite Fringe to Fridays starting next year the fans were appalled… but what choice did Fox have? With American Idol returning in January and the likes of House, Raising Hope and Bones all performing well, ratings challenged Fringe HAD to be the sacrificial lamb. What, you think they’re gonna plonk Glee on a Friday night?
To ward off fan’s fears Fox have put together this amusing promotional campaign which definitely fits with the spirit of the spooky show. It’s a nice touch – but I wouldn’t get too excited Fringe fans – this is the network that said they’d stand by The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Dollhouse – and look what happened to them…
