Here it is – at long last – the eagerly awaited trailer (by me anyway) for The Walking Dead, the new zombie series coming to AMC in October…

In case you don’t know the history of the show, The Walking Dead is based on an acclaimed graphic novel and has a strong creative team behind it – Producer Gale Anne Hurd (James Cameron’s ex-wife who produced The Terminator and Aliens among many classics) and director Frank Darabont (who made The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile – and who I once interviewed and was a very, very nice man!)

I haven’t read the novel and honestly didn’t know all that much about the show – but I’ve always thought someone should make a Dawn of the Dead TV series – and here it is!

I have to admit I’m a little underwhelmed by the trailer. There’s some nice moments but I think it’s too long and there’s just too many shots of the show’s star Andrew Lincoln (familiar to all us Brits from cult drama series This Life). I would have loved to have seen more zombie action – and the band of survivors working together to stay alive…

But I’m certainly intrigued and have high hopes More >
