The Walking Dead: Finale Fireworks!
Nov 28th
Okay – now it all makes sense!
After a somewhat painful second ‘season’ (I know, we’re only halfway through), where at times it felt as though we the viewers were half dead ourselves, The Walking Dead roared back to life last night with one of the show’s best ever episodes – and an amazing finale scene.
You know the sequence in question – the final five minutes of the Fall season finale in which our team of survivors, led by the increasingly hardened Shane, released the Walkers in the barn and shot them dead in front of an aghast Hershel. But it was the final touching shot of long lost Sophia exiting the barn that carried the most power. Though we barely knew her as a character, it was shocking to watch Rick shoot the bewildered Sophia in the head, casting a whole new light on the Season 2 episodes so far.

The Walking Dead: MORE Walking, LESS Talking Please!
Nov 1st
(BE WARNED – SPOILERS ALERT)
Okay everyone – how are you all finding season 2 of The Walking Dead?
We’re only 3 episodes into the new season and already the AMC zombie series has given us some great, memorable moments. I loved the ‘herd’ scene in Episode 1, the shock ending in the same episode – and of course Episode 3’s OMG revelation of what happened on Shane’s trip to the zombie infested school (more on that scene in a moment!)
But I’m afraid I do have one pretty big criticism of the season so far – and I have a feeling quite a few of you out there are feeling the same way. Is it just me or has Season 2 been really TALKY so far?
Now I don’t mind slow paced shows. You’ve all heard me raving about Mad Men here on the site and that isn’t exactly a zippy show. And Homeland, which I’m also following at the moment, is also a pretty slow series. But for me, The Walking Dead has crossed over and actually become a tad – dare I say it – boring at times!

First Look: The Walking Dead – The Full Season 2 Trailer
Jul 22nd
Here it is – the trailer we’ve all been waiting for – the extended look at The Walking Dead season 2
Yep, it’s been a good few days since I last mentioned my favorite zombie drama epic – so I didn’t want you all to be getting withdrawal symptoms!
The trailer was unveiled at Comic Con today and is pretty darn fantastic. I love the hiding-under-the-cars sequence – although wouldn’t the zombies be able to sniff the humans out? Still it’s terrific, dramatic stuff and looks to me like this is a key scene from episode one.
Today we also learned that The Walking Dead is getting an earlier time slot – 9pm EST – and will be launching a couple of weeks earlier than last year, 16th October rather than Halloween. Still too far away though…
Anyway here’s the trailer – take a look and start sending over your comments! (more…)

First Look: The Walking Dead Season 2
Jul 12th
Now this is exciting!
Check out the first sneak peek for the return of AMC’s fantastic zombie series in the Fall.
Regular Remote Patrolled readers will know I was a HUGE fan of The Walking Dead‘s first season – which at just 6 episodes was far too short.
Thankfully this second go around ups the ante to 13 episodes which means the show won’t be over before it’s even begun!
Filming started in June and my instinct is that AMC will premiere the new season Halloween which worked wonders for the series first time around.
This trailer doesn’t reveal much – but it’s super stylish and very cool, featuring Matrix style slow mo bullets (an effect I normally hate since it’s so overused)
But what do you think? Are you excited for The Walking Dead season 2… (more…)

The Killing: What Did You Think Of The Season 1 Finale?
Jun 20th
Okay, color me confused!
Am I the only one who left last night’s final episode of The Killing scratching my head and not really sure what happened?
I’ve been a big fan of The Killing throughout its 13 episode run, championing the show against accusations that it was too slow, too depressing and too contrived (all of which were valid criticisms at times)
But here’s the thing – if I’m going to invest that much time in a show I certainly want to know who the killer is by season’s end. Last night’s series finale was gripping and involving but also ultimately frustrating. I don’t mind a couple of loose ends to carry us over into next season – but it felt like The Killing didn’t give us ANY real answers.

First Look: AMC’s Hell On Wheels
May 3rd
In my book AMC is pretty much the coolest network out there at the moment…
I adore Mad Men and The Walking Dead and am a big fan of new murder mystery series The Killing too.
So whenever AMC unveils a new show I’m always first in line… and here’s the network’s latest, Western series Hell On Wheels.
Wheels is a period drama set during the building of the Transcontinental Railroad and stars Anson Mount as a Confederate solider seeking vengeance for his murdered wife. Rapper Common appears as a freed slave and Irish actor Colm Meaney is Thomas ‘Doc’ Durant – a financier and railroad promoter.
The show looks beautiful – as all AMC shows do – but personally I’m not a big fan of Westerns so I’m not sure the show is quite my taste. That said I’m not a huge fan of murder serials either and I’m really enjoying The Killing – so I’ll definitely take a look.
Hell on Wheels premieres in the Fall – so will you be watching? (more…)
